I found this to be a beautifully breathtaking and overwhelming exhibition.
20 artist documenting different regions of the Americas, in order to highlight the destruction of nature at the hands of man.
Artists including:
Cy Twombly Annette Messager Joseph Beuys And many more... Raphael Hefti & Agnieszka Polska - Nottingham Contemporary 18th October - 5th January 201511/15/2014 Raphael Hefti is fascinated with process, often inventing his own approach to making work, blurring the boundaries between natural and industrial, abstract and representational. Here are his huge photogram’s in which he dusts paper with "witch powder" or Lycopodium. A type of spore that lights up and flashes when set on fire. The results are these beautifully charged images, reminiscent of space.
Artist Rooms: Louise Bourgeois a woman without secrets. MIMA 18th July - 12th October 201411/14/2014 Exploring the mystery and beauty of human emotions Louise Bourgeois, solo Artist Room exhibition was a truly raw, honest and heartfelt exhibition of the artist’s life. I found it an extremely surreal experience. And thought it was a breathtaking exhibition
Artists including:
Francis Bacon Yoko Ono Barbara Hepworth Helen Chadwick Wolfgang Tillmans Rachel Whiteread Richard Deacon And loads more.... Abstract art was the exhibitions starting point, yet as the name suggests most of the art works are near abstraction. Rather than truly abstract by its very own definition. They are works in which the world had undergone a radical transformation. Where the image has lost its definition or regonislble appearance and become something else. This was the first major exhibition devoted to the French designer. Consisting over more than 165 of his most iconic couture designs. It was a beautiful and breathtaking exhibition.
