These pictures were taken during the making of a piece of work for our exhibition we were in the process of arranging. I really liked the idea of veiling something, but as I stupidly went to iron the nylon it burnt and created a massive rip/hole in the fabric. I then decided that the horn could go through the hole and hang off, almost as if been pierced by the horn. So I then began delicately sewing floral fabric flowers around the hole.
I get isnpired alot by the space I surround myself with and the things I collect and read
These are the photo's I took whilst constructing my sculpture. The piece will be called "Life on high" reflecting our selfish needs to put our own lives at risk thinking we are indestructible. Whilst at the top of the sculpture is a reminder that all actions have a consequence. With the Jesus figure, but is he been crucified or high himself?
This was an idea I got at one point whilst doing some work. It was an idea I had for a while since having a house Party where people brought laughing gas. And the next day there were lots of little canisters left all over the place.
I decided to help inspire and motivate me I would borrow a series of artist dvd's such as Damien Hirst, Louise Bourgeois and other to help give me another perspective my taking notes.
Here are some of my observational outcomes based on a pig's heart I was drawing.
This was a picture I took whilst messing around with flowers in the studio, it had no exact effect on the work I was making at the time. I was just influenced to look at flowers from the floral rememberance on the Nottingham street.
I saw this walking down a street in Nottingham; visually I found it extremely moving, powerful and sombre. Something as poignant as seeing something like that only makes you think about your very own mortality. Yet a very beautiful act of love to someone.
I decided to buy a bag of plaster to cast objects in. The heart in this piece was off a Valentines plush toy. But I had no other idea what to do, when I realised I had mixed to much plaster I decided to make whatever I could and so built an improvised structure.
During a sculpture class, I was trying to think of the sculptures I was aiming to make as all my efforts so far had failed. However I knew wood wasn't the medium I wanted to use.
